Name: Yolanda Jara
Title and department: Villa Host Manager
Time working at the Marbella Club: 2 years
Yolanda leads a newly formed team called the Villa Hosts, a group of expertly trained, modern-day butlers that are the eyes and ears of the Marbella Club guests who have booked any one of our 17 villas in the resort. How did you end up at the Marbella Club and why did you want to work here?
My story at the Marbella Club begins as an intern for the marketing department. From the beginning I knew that I wanted this to become much more than an internship. I then moved on to working at the Food and Beverage department and now, I’ve landed in the Villas department, and I hope to be here for a very long time.
What do you like most about your job and why?
The guest’s wellbeing during her stay and knowing that they come back to the Marbella Club time and time again because of the personal connections they’ve made.
What’s the thing that you most like to point out about the hotel?
What I would highlight is getting to know very loyal guests of the Marbella Club. They tell you all sorts of stories about the memories they’ve made here and I love hearing about what the hotel was like in the past.
In the time you’ve been here, what would you say has been your all-time favourite moment?
One of my favourite memories here was the day that I was trusted to coordinate and organise my first wedding at Villa del Mar.
If you could spend a day working in a different area of the hotel, which would it be and why?
I would love to spend time working in every area of the hotel. It would helps me learn the difficulties that each of us have in our various jobs.
What’s your favourite part of the hotel? And of Marbella?
My favourite spot is the Holistic Studio. You step in and you’re suddenly wrapped in peace and calm. In Marbella, I love to stroll through the white-washed streets of the Old Town.
